Process overview

The key driving force behind DJA is the belief that 3D CAD data should act as a true record of the physical object, both during design and the lifetime of the object. We have combined laser scanning, 3D CAD modelling and visualisation equipment and software to be able to provide a single solution for recording, modifying and creating deliverable data in a number of industries:

  • YachtFairing_6Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture: We have a reputation for supplying accurate and detailed assembly systems to boatyards and have created assembly systems for vessels as large as 120'. We also supply a comprehensive survey service, capturing hull, superstructure and internal geometry and reverse engineering it to CAD models.
  • Architecture: Working on behalf of architects, we have created survey drawings of listed buildings including theatres, mansions, manor houses and shopping centres. Combining our surveying skills with our suite of visualisation software allows us to create accurate images of proposals for AlstomScanning_07planning applications.
  • Industrial Design: Working with clients such as Cummins, Alsthom Power and Drax Power station, we have scanned complex industrial pipework and steelwork systems, supplying the clients with sections, levels and plan views.
  • Heritage: Clients include Scottish National Heritage and English Heritage, as well as archaeological consultants such as Mike Grifftihs & Associates. Using the laser scanner, we have captured a variety of building and objects and created deliverables ranging from 2D stone level elevation drawings to interactive 3D models of the site.

Whether this is 2D CAD format elevations or lines plans or interactive 3D models or IGES hull surfaces, we have the skill and knowledge to provide an efficient set of deliverables.
