Working in conjunction with our colleagues at Geo Spatial Survey Solutions Ltd, DJA can provide a comprehensive laser scanning solution. From Roman sarcophagus to power stations, DJA have supplied laser scanning services, capturing reality and integrating it with 3D CAD models.
We specialise in large scale laser scanning - capturing boats, buildings, aircraft and other large structures. Working with the Faro LS880 and Mensi GS200 scanners, we can capture complex sites or objects and generate "As built" record data in a variety of formats. Scan data is collated using a Leica total station, allowing large and complex sites to be quickly and accurately assembled.
Working from battery or 110/240V power, the scanners are flexible and can collect data in the majority of weather conditions. We can engineer scanning solutions for a large number of difficult to reach or hazardous locations - from the rafters of a power station to the inside of a fuel tank.
Scan data is processed and supplied as a variety of deliverables. Formats available for client deliverables include:
2D CAD drawings: From the data, we can create accurate and highly detailed elevations, sections, plans and isometric views in industry standard DWG and DXF format. Examples include exterior elevations, detailed stone elevations, internal sectional elevations, plans and more.- 3D images: Useful as a "scanners eye" reference, both greyscale and colour images from scan locations can allow clients to give a virtual walkthrough of a site using an interactive Flash based website. Photographs, animations and 2D drawings can be referenced to this presentation, giving a powerful presentation tool for existing structures.
- 3D CAD models: For complex sites, structures and hulls, the ability to move around the site, create sections or have an IGES hull model for Naval architecture is essential. DJA can create accurate 3D models from scan data, accurately portraying the true shape and relationship of components or rooms. Examples include Howden Minster, Nant Eos and Stormcats.
- Animation and visualisation: Working with the scan data, we can create animated flypasts or add in additional structures and create photorealistic images of the combined scan data and 3D CAD data.
